Feslal\u00ed 2026 offers a diverse programme, designed for participants to enjoy the municipality from multiple perspectives. Throughout February, Alcalal\u00ed will host: hiking routes to discover the natural and agricultural landscape; educational activities and field trips to learn about the carob tree and its environmental and productive value; craft workshops where tradition, creativity, and sustainability go hand in hand; cultural and gastronomic competitions, such as the fast-painting contest or the carob-based sweet treat competition; the Fira d\u2019Oficis i Productes de la Terra (Traditional Trades and Local Products Fair), featuring local products, live music, and activities for all ages; and children’s shows and musical performances that will turn the streets of Alcalal\u00ed into spaces for gathering and community life.<\/p>\n

Scientific bird-ringing workshop and bird watching<\/h3>\n

We discover the fascinating world of birds with Mateo\u2019s help, a local ornithologist who carries out bird censuses at different times of the year thanks to the scientific ringing technique.<\/p>\n

We will observe birds in the different ecosystems of the town: the cropland and the river and forest areas. Participants will be divided into 2 groups, the first one taking part in the scientific ringing while the second one takes part in an interpretive walk in search of birds and after that the other way around.<\/p>\n

Ceramic workshop (\u201cEsgrafiat\u201d): The Carob<\/h3>\n

Participants will experiment with clay and the carob tree, its flowers, and its leaves.
You can decorate your own piece. Once the workshop is finished, each piece is fired and glazed, and can be collected a few weeks later.<\/p>\n

We propose to recover and value traditional knowledge for making homemade soap from natural and everyday ingredients, just as our grandmothers did, promoting sustainability, cultural memory, and cooperative work.<\/p>\n

The objective of this contest is to foster artistic creativity and promote the dissemination of the landscape, urban, and cultural heritage of Alcalal\u00ed through pictorial works made in situ and in a limited time. You can consult the rules on the site www.feslali.com<\/p>\n

Today, thanks to its culinary versatility, natural properties, and value as a sustainable product, it once again holds a prominent place in both cooking and the town’s future projects.
This contest is also part of the Feasibility study on the commercialisation of the carob in Alcalal\u00ed, which focuses on gastronomic transformation and added value as keys to its revaluation.<\/p>\n

What does the contest involve?<\/strong>
Participants must prepare a sweet in which carob is an essential ingredient, whether in the form of flour, paste, or syrup.
Both creativity and gastronomic quality, as well as the link to tradition and local products, will be valued.<\/p>\n

To facilitate participation, the Town Council will provide 300 grams of carob flour to each registered person.<\/p>\n

Three prizes will be awarded, each consisting of a \u20ac75 voucher to be spent in Alcalal\u00ed shops:

On February the 21st and 22nd, as part of the 10th edition of \u201cFeslal\u00ed. February is Alcalal\u00ed\u201d<\/strong>, Alcalal\u00ed will host the Crafts and Land Products Fair<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The main objective of the event is to value the landscape, local products, and traditional crafts as identity elements of our territory.<\/p>\n

The fair will feature more than 30 stands<\/strong> where visitors can purchase local and km 0 products<\/strong>. Additionally, the space will be dedicated to the practice and exhibition of traditional crafts, turning the plazas and public spaces of Alcalal\u00ed into meeting points for cultural and musical dissemination<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
