Ornithological hiking route.
Scientific bird-ringing workshop and bird watching

We discover the fascinating world of birds with Mateo’s help, a local ornithologist who carries out bird censuses at different times of the year thanks to the scientific ringing technique.
We will observe birds in the different ecosystems of the town: the cropland and the river and forest areas. Participants will be divided into 2 groups, the first one taking part in the scientific ringing while the second one takes part in an interpretive walk in search of birds and after that the other way around.
Ceramic workshop “Esgrafiat”: The Carob

Participants will experiment with clay and the carob tree, its flowers, and its leaves.
You can decorate your own piece. Once the workshop is finished, each piece is fired and glazed, and can be collected a few weeks later.

Handmade soap workshop with carob

We propose to recover and value traditional knowledge for making homemade soap from natural and everyday ingredients, just as our grandmothers did, promoting sustainability, cultural memory, and cooperative work.
Each participant creates and takes home their own handmade soap.
Workshop duration: 1 hour 30 mins to 2 hours.

II Quick Painting Contest “Feslalí. February is Alcalalí”, in collaboration with ADAMA

The objective of this contest is to foster artistic creativity and promote the dissemination of the landscape, urban, and cultural heritage of Alcalalí through pictorial works made in situ and in a limited time.

Interpretative hiking route “Coll de Rates. PR-CV 425”

This hiking route mostly follows trails that guide us through the landscape and agricultural heritage of Alcalalí, reaching the “Coll de Rates” viewpoint where we will enjoy an incredible panoramic view of the Pop Valley.

In our mountains, we find many species of aromatic plants.
We will learn to identify them through touch, smell, and sight, discover their uses and virtues, and learn their common names.
It is a sensory experience that activates olfactory memory.
II Carob sweets contest

The carob tree is once again the protagonist in Alcalalí. To celebrate the 10th Edition of Feslalí “February is Alcalalí”, the Alcalalí Town Council is organising the II Carob Sweets Contest, a gastronomic proposal that invites you to rediscover this fruit so rooted in our landscape, history, and agricultural identity.

We recover the artisanal use of palm for making baskets, hats, and other items. We value folk wisdom and the natural resources of the Valencian drylands. This educational and cultural proposal invites participants to connect with our identity and discover a future model based on respect for the landscape and traditional agriculture.
